Orpington Table
Some designs begin with a sketch. This one began with a space.
Originally designed for a small apartment. The brief was simple: create a solid hardwood dining table that felt generous without overwhelming the space. The result is a table that appears lighter than its construction suggests, yet remains rock solid for everyday life.
Its understated frame is reminiscent of traditional foundry and trestle tables, replacing steel with finely proportioned hardwood to achieve the same structural integrity with a warmer, more natural character. Thoughtfully positioned legs maximise seating comfort, while the triangulated underframe provides exceptional rigidity. The lower stretcher also offers a comfortable place to rest your feet during long meals and conversations.
Finished with Osmo Hardwax Oil, the timber retains its natural warmth and can be maintained and refreshed for decades of use.
Beautiful enough to notice. Useful enough to use every day.
